THIS IS AN ONGOING PROJECT.

An ultralight alternative to warm weather sleeping bags, backpacking quilts remove the bottom layer of insulation and instead rely on the R value of your sleeping pad to create a full sleep system. They pack smaller, weigh less, and deliver higher warmth-to-weight performance than a similar mummy bag.

The Anomaly UL 30°F Quilt features a zipper and drawcord closure on the footbox so that you can open and lay it flat on the warmest nights or zip and sinch it down to retain more heat.

EMS’s Clarity UL 20°F Quilt is a minimalist’s dream, featuring a 3D footbox to keep your toes warm and supple 20D nylon for a cozy night’s sleep.

The quilts were tested by the Institute for Environmental Research at Kansas State University. The tests deviated from ISO 23537-1 by pairing a down hood with the quilt to best represent field use.

Production slated to start Dec. 2021.
