Backpack design & development

After multiple rounds of sampling across more than a dozen styles, management has decided to look for an alternative factory due to cost concerns that were recently brought forward, over a year into the development of these styles.

Project is currently on hold.

Long Trail 70 Redesign

This intial concept sketch explores a new direction for the Long Trail 70 backpacking pack, including a convertible brain daypack for quick off route explorations.

The project is on hold as we review our pack lineup and reevaluate needs - Do modern backpackers need 70L of capacity?

SECTOR SERIES DAYPACKS

These classic daypacks have been redesigned from the ground up to get back to the performance that EMS backpacks were once known for. The Sector 25 is a panel loader perfect for high mileage day hikes, the 35 is a traditional top loader with enough space for an overnighter, and the 45 is a roll top with front panel access for multi-day trips.

A completely new back panel uses 3D foam under a mesh panel to provide support and breathability, while the updated hip padding wraps securely around the iliac crest, transferring the weight directly to the hips.

New materials throughout the packs provide a premium feel and high performance on the trail.

commuter packs

Updated to simplify patterning and design, these commuter packs pull double duty from the office to the trail while hitting a higher margin at lower price points.

THE THROWBACK COLLECTION

A 3 piece collection inspired by vintage rucksacks and the iconic EMS Fencemender pant, featuring a daypack, tote, and trucker hat.
